The Department of Visual Art & Art History presents Coalition, an open house exhibition featuring hundreds of works in print media, drawing, painting, photography and sculpture created by the rising young talent in the department.

Senior Studio Exhibition
‘Noise’ is an exhibition of work by the two senior studio classes, Installation & Painting, in the Department of Visual Art & Art History, York University. Bringing together the work of about fifty students who work in a diversity of contemporary styles & media, the exhibition is both a culmination of their BFA and a launching pad to their futures.

Scenes by Design
The Theatre Department’s annual exhibition showcasing the work of the Design and Production area. Scenes by Design offers an insider’s look at the creative work done behind the scenes before the curtain rises on a stage production. The exhibition features original set designs and maquettes, costumes, props, scene painting, renderings, drawings and lighting design by students in the production/design area. Scenes by Design will also include the announcement of the 2020 – 2021 Theatre @ York Season.

The York University Gospel Choir directed by Professor Karen Burke presents a rafter-raising concert of works by Hezekiah Walker, Edwin Hawkins, Kirk Franklin and other gospel greats.
The 100+ voice choir is backed by a rhythm section directed by Corey Butler.
Karen Burke is a pre-eminent singer, music director, choral conductor and composer in the field of African-American vocal music. An authority on the history and performance practices of Gospel music, she has worked with many major choral ensembles and organizations including the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and Youth Choir, Toronto Choral Society and Ontario Choral Federation, as well as numerous schools and church congregations. In 1988, she co-founded the Juno Award-winning Toronto Mass Choir and continues to serve as its principal director, touring nationally and internationally.
